NC candidate emerges victorious in Musikot municipality



RUKUM WEST: Mahendra KC of Nepali Congress has won the mayoral post in Musikot Municipality in the district of Rukum Paschim by defeating Basanta Kumar Sharma of Maoist Centre. Winner KC got 6,914 votes while Sharma of Maoist Centre got 6,901 votes.

Likewise, Bimal Kumar Pun Magar of CPN (Unified Socialist) got victory as the deputy mayor with 6,140 votes by defeating Thal Bahadur Oli of CPN (UML), who got 5,985 votes.

CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress had forged an electoral alliance against the Maoist Centre-CPN (US) alliance in Musikot Municipality.
Of the 14 wards in the municipality, Maoist Centre won in eight wards while six others by NC.
