Vote count in 628 of 753 local levels over

NC wins mayor/chair in 280 local levels; UML in 173 and Maoist Center in 112



KATHMANDU: Vote count of 628 out of 753 local levels of the country has completed.

So far, Nepal’s grand old party Nepali Congress (NC) has won most of the local levels followed by the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) at the third place.

According to the Election Commission (EC), out of 628 local units, the NC alone won the posts of mayors and chairpersons in 280 local levels.

The UML, so far, is distant second winning the top posts in 173 local bodies. And, the Maoist Center is at the third position succeeding in claiming 112 local level chiefs and chairpersons.

Similarly, the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) became victorious in 16 local levels, the CPN (Unified Socialist) in 12, the other parties have won 35 seats in local bodies.
