Valley witnesses rain; rain amid thunderstorms expected



KATHMANDU: Light to moderate rain has been occurring in various parts of the country including the Kathmandu Valley since early morning today.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), it is raining in Nepal due to the local wind blowing in Nepal, low pressure line formed around the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh and also the influence of westerly wind.

Currently, the weather is partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country including Province 1, Madhesh Pradesh and Bagmati Pradesh.

Similarly, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Province 1, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province with chances of light rain and thunderstorms in this afternoon.

The weather will be generally clear in Province 1, Madhesh Pradesh, Bagmati Pradesh and Gandaki Pradesh and partly cloudy in the rest of the country tonight.

In the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is forecast in Province 1, Madhesh Pradesh, Bagmati Pradesh, Gandaki Pradesh and some hilly areas of other provinces.
