Suspended Governor Adhikari resuming duties today



KATHMANDU: The Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Maha Prasad Adhikari is resuming his duties from today (Wednesday).

Governor Adhikari is resuming his duties from today after the Supreme Court on Tuesday  issued an interim order in the name of the Council of Ministers, staying its decision to suspend him.

A cabinet meeting on April 7 had suspended Adhikari for ‘leaking confidential information.’

A single bench of Justice Hari Phuyal on Tuesday issued an interim order in the name of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers to allow Adhikari to carry out his official duties.

Meanwhile, the SC has called both the petitioner and the defendant for discussions on April 26.
