Nation’s welfare, major criteria for accepting foreign aid: NC leader Singh

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakashman Singh has said foreign assistance by any country would be acceptable provided that it is in the interest of the nation and people.

In his address to a party program in Kathmandu Sunday, the leader said the party was always against such aid deemed to be against the welfare of the nation. Nation and the people should be in first priority while assessing the results of foreign aid, he stressed.

Stating that people and the nation are always first priority for the NC, he urged party cadres to contribute to erasing doubts over the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

At the program organized as part of the party’s election publicity campaign targeting the upcoming local level elections slated for May 13, leader Singh urged one and all in the party line to work hard for ensuring party’s ‘landslide victory’.

He took time to call on aspiring election candidates to follow a legal course to make the party victorious in the polls.
