Defecting Maoist leader Bista joins UML



KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center’s Karnali leader Thammar Bahadur Bista has defected to the CPN-UML.

UML Senior Vice-chairman Ishwor Pokharel and Standing Committee member Yam Lal Kandel welcomed Bista into the main opposition at a program in Surkhet on Sunday.

Earlier, Bista announced he had quit the Maoist Center. Subsequently, Maoist Karnali Province Parliamentary Party leader Mahendra Bahadur Shahi had suspended Bista from the party.
