Maoist Center likely to become the first party in elections: Prachanda



POKHARA: Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has claimed that his party has the possibility of becoming the first party after the elections considering the current situation in the country.

He said that the Maoists could become the first party again without forging an electoral alliance.

“Even in 2064 BS, some major parties had said that the Maoists would get not more than five seats, but the people gave us almost a majority,” Prachanda told reporters in Pokhara on Sunday morning.

Prachanda further said that he was confident that the Maoist Center would garner majority votes as the party would fulfill the issue of empowering the people from institutionalizing democracy, constitution and peace process.
