Westerly low-pressure system brings rainfall



KATHMANDU: There is impact of westerly low-pressure system in the country due to which some of the hilly areas in provinces like Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim are witnessing light rainfall at this moment.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, high hills and mountainous areas are generally to fully clouded while Terai weather is partially cloudy. Rainfall occurred in Taplejung, Okhaldhunga and Pokhara among others. Heavy hailstorm occurred in Pokhara today.

The sky in Kathmandu Valley is fully cloudy with thunderstorms occurring due to which there has been sharp rise in cold. The Division has issued a warning for the next 24 hours and urged one and all to keep themselves away from chill, especially in the mornings and evenings.

Rainfall coupled with thunderstorm and lightning is likely in some of the hilly areas. Weather in high hills and mountainous region will be fully cloudy tonight. Rest of the places will have partial cloudy weather.

The Division had forecasted light to fully cloudy weather in hilly areas on Monday. The remaining places will be partially cloudy while some of the places in high hills will have light rainfall with thunderstorms.
