Janamat Party calls for sacking Minister Yadav

KATHMANDU: CK Raut-led Janamat Party has called for sacking Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Yadav after the Minister gave a provocative statement and threatened to kill Janamat Party leader Raut.

Issuing a statement Thursday, the party called on the government to sack Minister Yadav and search and book perpetrators of the Gaur massacre.

“Our party’s serious attention has been drawn to the statement made by the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. What she said is clear in the video. The Minister alleged that cadres of Janamat Party were the ones who carried out the massacre in Gaur’s rice field and she would plot such an event again while threatening to assassinate leader Raut.”

The party concluded that the Minister’s statement was of an extreme criminal nature and against the sentiment of farmers’ movement and the public.

“The Minister’s statement is also confession regarding the Gaur Massacre that occurred on March 21, 2007, killing 28 people. She proudly said that massacre was plotted by the Janata Samajwadi Party (then Madhesi Janadhikar Forum). Therefore, the government of Nepal should immediately dismiss the minister who made criminal statements, tried to incite murder and violence and conspired for another genocide.”

The party also demanded to book the fugitives accused of the Gaur massacre and giving justice to the victims.
