Air services generally affected due to bad weather



KATHMANDU: Air service of the country has been generally affected due to bad weather on Thursday.

Flights to and from some airports have been affected due to thick fog and haze from early morning following the impact of westerly wind. The domestic flights from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been generally affected while international flights operated smoothly.

General Manager of TIA Bhola Prasad Guragain said that especially flights at the airports of eastern Tarai of the country were affected. Flights could not take place at Biratnagar, Janakpur and Simara airports.

As per the latest details of TIA, flights at Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa and Pokhara airports have resumed.

Information Officer of Buddha Air, Dipendra Kumar Karna, said that flights were delayed up to three hours due to bad weather. Bharatpur airport resumed service from 11:35 am while Biratnagar airport from 2:00 pm today.
