Major Shahi relieved of his post for violating military discipline

KATHMANDU: Nepali Army has relieved Major Ashok Shahi of his post on the charge of violating the military discipline.

A military summary court martial formed under the chairmanship of Brigade Commander of 15 Brigade Krishna Bahadur GC relived Shahi of his post and slapped him with a one-month jail term.

Shahi has now been released after serving a one-month jail term.

A court of inquiry had been formed under the command of a Colonel of 25 Brigade on November 8 to investigate the case.

According to a highly placed source of the Nepali Army, Shahi had reached Chisapani bazaar on his vehicle, Ba 01-0026 Cha 3461, under the influence of alcohol on the evening when the incident took place.

Police and locals during the court of inquiry had reported that Shahi had also pointed a gun at the people in general.
