Byas municipality to set up a labor and employment desk



TANAHU: Byas municipality is set to establish a labor and employment desk in Tanahu.

The municipality has intensified preparation to bring into effect the desk targeting the people going for foreign employment first time.

The initiative has been taken to enhance the immigration safety of its people considering both the opportunity and challenges in this sector.

Tanahu is the 18th district in sending higher number of workers to foreign employment.

Byas municipality mayor Baikuntha Neupane said a help desk to look after labour and employment related affairs will be established in the municipality.

He further informed that preparation was made to endorse the plan for establishing the desk from coming municipal assembly and bring it into implementation.

“The desk will help address the problems of migrant returnees in terms of their labour and employment. It will also work to facilitate the migrant returnees to become self-reliant and entrepreneurs”, Neupane added.

He further shared that the municipality has allocated a budget of Rs 5 million in the fiscal year for promoting entrepreneurship among the youths.

As informed nine migrant workers Tanahun have so far remained out of contact.
