President calls on citizens to take part in voting enthusiastically



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged the entire Nepali citizenry to enthusiastically take part in the voting for the elections to the Member of the House of Representatives and Province Assembly taking place tomorrow, November 20.

In a message today on the occasion of the HoR and PA elections, 2022, the Head-of-State termed the Right to Vote is the supreme exercise of the civic rights.

The President said the periodic election is the means of bringing the people’s sovereignty into real practice, reflecting the reality that people are the actual source of the State power.

“The form of governance operated by the people’s representatives is the most beautiful aspect of the government,” the message reads.

The President highlighted on the historic significance of the general elections to institutionalize the federal democratic republic enshrined by the Nepal’s Constitution delivered by the people’s elected Constituent Assembly.

According to the President, she hopes the mass elections to be implemented with the exercise of the people’s franchise in an impartial, free and peaceful atmosphere will contribute to making the democratic system consolidated and organisation accountable to the people.

“The election will help establish the good governance and transparency aspired to by the people in a democratic system. A strong and healthy democracy will help meet the national goals for peace, stability and prosperity,” the President observed.

She has called on the Election Commission, security bodies, government employees and all the bodies concerned to contribute from their respective sides to make the election a grand success.

The voting for the twin elections is taking place tomorrow simultaneously across the country.
