Over 1.6 million voters of Gandaki Province voting in tomorrow’s election



POKHARA: A total of 1,662,246 registered voters in Gandaki Province are going to exercise their franchise in tomorrow’s House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly election.

Among the registered voters, female constituted the highest at 869,538 while the number of male voters stood at 792,697.

Similarly, 11 voters were categorized as ‘others’, whose gender identities were neither male nor female, according to the Province Election Office, Pokhara.

The Province with 11 districts in total has 18 constituencies for HoR election and 36 for Province Assembly election, shared Information Officer at the Office, Rudra Neupane.

In provincial capital district Kaski, there are three constituencies.

The provincial capital has 264,456 voters registered with the Election Commission of Nepal. Among them, 140,369 were female, 124,083 were male and 4 were categorized as ‘Others’.

Altogether 89 candidates are contesting for HoR and Province Assembly election from Kaski district, added Neupane.

Furthermore, he informed that over 28,000 election staffs have been mobilized in the Province that includes election officer, assistant election officers.

Election staffs have already reached their respective polling stations with election materials to successfully conduct the upcoming twin election, according to the Province Election Office, Pokhara.
