Women in charge of four polling stations



HUMLA: Women employees have been given the responsibility of four polling stations in Humla in Sunday’s election to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly.

There are 58 polling stations and 59 polling centers in the district.

Accordingly, Sudha Sapkota has been designated to lead the polling booth in Bhimsen Basic School in Simkot Rural Municipality-5, and Rajan Chand in Kalashilta Basic School in ward no 6.

Likewise, Parvati Rokaya has been given the responsibility in Humla secondary school in Kharpunath Rural Municipality-3 and Sarita Bohra in Devkota Basic School in Sarkegad Rural Municipality-3 in the district, acting officer of the election office in Humla, Shyam Bahadur Rana said.

Similarly, eight women have been given the responsibility of assistant polling officers.

According to the Chief Returning Officer’s office, women have been given priority for the elections in the district.

More women employees have been deployed in this election than in the recently held local level elections.

In compared to 44 women in the local elections, 76 women officials have been appointed in this election, said the Office.

Every polling booth has at least one women employee. A total of 450 employees are deployed for the election in the district.
