Cricketer Lamichhane’s remand extended by four more days

KATHMANDU: The District Court Kathmandu has given permission to the police to keep the suspended captain of the Nepali cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane, in custody for four more days.

Though the police asked for seven days, the court extended the deadline by only four days and allowed them to submit the report on coming Sunday, said advocate Saroj Krishna Ghimire.

Lamichhane is in police custody since October 6 on the charge of raping a minor girl.

Police arrested him from Tribhuvan International Airport on October 6.

The remand has been extended to give the police time to forward the investigation into the case.
