Employees, teachers to be deployed in November 20 elections

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) will deploy civil servants and teachers in the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections to be held on November 20.

Government employees and teachers were deployed in the previous elections as well.

The EC has already instructed the government to manage the staff required for the upcoming elections.

The election body has also instructed the government to send employees to the vacant posts within September 5.

In the letter issued by Shaligram Sharma Poudel, the spokesperson of the EC, it has asked the government to appoint mandatory staff in the vacant posts by September 5.

For election purposes, the EC has asked the government to send employees/teachers to the vacant posts as there is the mandatory appointment of permanent employees or permanent teachers of federal civil service, state civil service and local level.

The Commission has also urged the government not to transfer the employees until after September 5 until the elections.
