Prachanda extols NC decision to continue coalition till federal, state elections



KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has welcomed the decision of the Nepali Congress to give continuity to the coalition in the upcoming federal and provincial elections.

Talking to reporters on Tuesday, Prachanda said that NC’s decision to continue the alliance was very right. “We are also in favor of advancing this alliance. We do not have alternative plans,” he said.

The NC’s Central Working Committee meeting recently decided to continue the coordination between alliance partners in the upcoming federal and provincial elections.

The NC decision was made concluding that the result of coordination between the alliance partners in the local level elections was satisfactory, and hence it was appropriate that coordination should be continued in upcoming elections to strengthen the constitution and democracy.

Maoist Chair ‘Prachanda’, CPN United Samajbadi Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, respected leader Jhalnath Khanal, Chairman of CPN Ekata National Campaign Bamdev Gautam and Maoist leaders Narayankaji Shrestha and Barshman Pun had held a meeting in Maoist Parliamentary Party office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday.

The leaders decided to join hands with those who share similar views.

Prachanda informed after the meeting that there was a discussion on how to proceed with the alliance in the upcoming elections and how to make the alliance effective.
