KATHMANDU: Four senior leaders of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) who have been active for a long time in the party finally deserted the party on Tuesday.
Issuing a press release on Tuesday, Dilnath Giri, Dil Bikas Rajbhandari, Shyam Timalsina and Keshav Raj Shrestha announced their resignation from the party, making serious allegations against the leadership.
They said that they had to leave the party because the leadership humiliated and insulted them.
“There was an attempt to humiliate us by calling us low-level insults and treating us like criminals,” the leaders said in the statement, adding, “This was not a matter acceptable to self-respecting people who believe in a system.”
They have been pressuring the leadership to improve their working style.
Especially for some time now, they have been dissatisfied with RPP for abandoning the agenda of the monarchy. They also mentioned that there is a need to build a strong nationalist democratic party in the country now.
