Balen continues to hold lead in KMC mayor race

Balen Shah appears to have a significant lead to be Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s next mayor if the current trend of vote count continues.

Independent candidate Balen has continued to lead by getting over 24,000 votes in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

So far, he has received 24,332 out of more than 61,000 votes counted as of Thursday evening.

His nearest rival CPN-UML’s Keshav Sthapit has got 12,573 votes.

Vote count in 570 of 753 local levels over

Vote count of 570 out of 753 local levels of the country has completed.

So far, Nepal’s grand old party Nepali Congress (NC) has won most of the local levels followed by the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) at the third place.

According to the Election Commission (EC), out of 570 local units, the NC alone won the posts of mayors and chairpersons in 253 local levels.

Votes show Maoist’s Renu with commanding lead over UML’s Subedi in Bharatpur

CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Renu Dahal has widened her lead with a margin of 3,264 votes in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

She has got 17,290 votes while closest contender UML candidate Bijay Subedi has got 14,026 votes so far. Similarly, independent candidate Jagannath Poudel received 7,040 votes.

So far, more than 45,762 votes have been counted in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
