CoAS General Sharma inaugurates Bailey bridge in Gorkha



KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of Nepali Army (NA) General Prabhuram Sharma has inaugurated a newly constructed Bailey bridge over Machhakhola along the Benighat-Arughat-Larkebhanjyang road stretch in Gorkha on Thursday.

The inauguration was attended by Secretary of Defense Kiran Raj Sharma, Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Rabindranath Shrestha, Acting Director General of Department of Roads Shiva Prasad Nepal, Deputy Director General Umesh Bindu Shrestha, local people’s representatives and officials of the Nepal Army.

CoAS General Sharma also made an aerial inspection of the under-construction Benighat-Arughat-Larkebhanjyang road project following the bridge inauguration.

According to the NA, CoAS Sharma also took stock of the progress of the road project and various aspects associated with its construction.

“The NA is confident that such development work undertaken by the Nepali Army will contribute to the overall development of the country and improve the civil-military relations,” said a statement issued by the NA on Thursday.
