Unified Socialist takes lead in Pokhara Metropolis

POKHARA: In the ongoing counting of votes under the local level elections 2079, the candidates of the ruling coalition have increased their lead in Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Out of 50,117 votes counted so far, Dhanraj Acharya of the CPN (Unified Socialist) has received 20,749 votes for the post of mayor.

His closest contender Krishna Bahadur Thapa of CPN-UML candidate has received 18,366 votes.

Acharya of the alliance has secured the lead with a margin of 2,383 votes.

For the post of deputy mayor, Kopila Ranabhat of Nepali Congress got 20,963 votes while her rival Manju Gurung of UML polled 20, 977 votes.
