Ten-time ward chair Byanjankar loses to his nephew



KATHMANDU: Nara Singha Byanjankar, who was ward chairman ten times in ward no. 10 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, has faced defeat.

His nephew Rabin Byanjankar of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected ward chairman with a margin of 247 votes.

Nara Singha Byanjankar is an independent candidate.

Nara Singha polled 578 votes while his contender Rabin received 825 votes.

A total of 1,783 votes had been cast in ward 10 of the metropolis in the local level elections held on May 13.
