NC wins in six local levels, UML in four in Sankhuwasabha



SANKHUWASABHA: Out of 10 local levels in Sankhuwasabha district, the Nepali Congress has won six local levels and CPN (UML) in four local levels in local-level election.

The NC has won the election to the post of mayor of Khadbari municipality, Panchkhapan municipality, and chairperson of Sabhapokhari rural municipality, Chichila rural municipality, Silichong rural municipality and Makalu rural municipality.

Similarly, CPN (UML) candidates have been elected mayor of Madi municipality, Dharmadevi municipality, Chainpur municipality and chairperson of Bhotkhola rural municipality.

Nepali Congress’s Mahesh Thapaliya, a common candidate from the alliance, has been elected mayor of Khadbari municipality while Maheshwora Bajracharya of the CPN (UML) won the election to the post of deputy-mayor.

Similarly, Jeevan Linthep and Sunita Devi Bhattarai of the CPN (UML) have become victorious to the post of mayor and deputy-mayor of Madi municipality respectively.

Likewise, Bipin Rai of the NC, a common candidate of the alliance, has won the election to the post of mayor of Panchkhapan municipality and Sumuna Shrestha of the CPN (Unified Socialist) as deputy-mayor.

Uday Chandra Poudel of the CPN (UML) has registered his victory in the post of mayor of Dharmadevi municipality and Tara Mahat of the NC has won the election to the post of deputy-mayor.

Similarly, UML’s Krishna Kumar Tamang and Alina Shrestha have been elected mayor and deputy mayor of Chainpur municipality respectively.
