CPN-US makes public its local-level election manifesto

KATHMANDU: CPN-Unified Socialist (CPN-US) has made public its local-level election manifesto.

Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal unveiled the manifesto during a program held at City Hall in Exhibition Road, Kathmandu, Monday.

In the manifesto, the CPN-US has included ‘Afno Gau Afai Banau’ (Let’s build our village) program that the nine-month CPN-UML government had begun in 1994.

According to the manifesto, the party has pledged from providing 200 units of electricity free of charge for every household every month to take initiatives for branding home-grown beverages in the international market.

The CPN-US, which was formed after a split from the CPN-UML, is taking part in the local elections for the first time.

The party laid special emphasis on the reason for forming a new party by rebelling against the UML in its manifesto.

The CPN-US is one of the five-party ruling coalition partners.
