Scholars should spread awareness: UML Chairman Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) chairperson KP Sharma Oli asserted that the intelligentsia should spread awareness to help realize the national aspiration-‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.

Oli said so inaugurating the third national conference of the Madan Bhandari Foundation in Kathmandu on Saturday.

Meanwhile, at another event organized by UML contact coordination committee, he instructed the party cadres and leaders to gear up for the upcoming local level election in such a manner that the UML secures victory in as many as constituencies.

The local level election is slated on May 13 in a single phase.

Oli, also the former prime minister, said that they could manage public’s expectation if the party wins in as many as constituencies thereby sending their representatives in the national assembly and ensure development works at local level as well.

He urged all the party cadres and leaders to remove psychological fear regarding conceding defeat in the election against the ruling coalition. “We have delivered in the interest of youths, housewives, elderly and service givers. There is no chance for UML to fall behind as all of them are bound to cast vote to the UML.”

The septuagenarian leader reminded all the participants of the event that UML had held the reign leadership defeating the electoral alliances in the last election and assured that UML would lead the government once again. (RSS)
