Fire ravages three houses in Kakani

KATHMANDU: A fire that broke out at Kakani Rural Municipality-3, Acharang last night had ravaged three houses.

The fire put the houses of Maite Tamang, Buddhiman Tamang and Sagar Tamang into ashes.

According to local social activist, Krishna Dhungana, the inferno destroyed properties including foodstuffs, utensils, clothes and jewelries kept inside the houses of three Tamang brothers.

Though locals and a joint force of Nepal Police team from Kakani teamed up to bring the fire under control, the fire had already turned the things into ashes, shared Kakani-3 ward chair Dhananath Bajagain.

The fire has destroyed the physical property worth over Rs 5 million, he informed. As reason behind the fire has yet to be ascertained, it was broken out from electric meter box.

Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Risal said the relief materials including tents would be provided to the fire survivors today. Nepal Red Cross Society Nuwakot District chapter is also providing relief assistance with cash to the fire survivor families today.
