Govt sensitive to citizen’s health, says Minister Khatiwada



KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada said the government was sensitive to the health of citizens.

Inaugurating the Mandandeupur primary hospital building at Mandandeupur municipality-7 in Kavre on Friday, he assured confidence that the government would remain effortful for providing health services.

Noting that the anti-COVID vaccination campaign was underway to protect citizens from the contagious coronavirus infection, the minister urged the unvaccinated citizens to get inoculated in a timely manner.

As of now specialized hospitals have been established for children, army, police and employees, Minister Khatiwada shared, adding the Ministry has decided to set up a hospital for the citizens above 50. A decision was already made for the setup of a hospital for teachers, he informed.

He added the government had arranged administration of anti-COVID-19 vaccines to the people above 12 lately and so far most of the citizens of the age class have received inoculation.

A procurement process has been put forward to provide anti-COVID vaccine services to the children between 5-11 years, the Minister informed. He said the government was in ready position to administer inoculation service once the World Health Organization (WHO) gave a nod.
