Election Commission fines Manange Rs 25,000



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has fined Gandaki Youth and Sports Minister Rajeev Gurung alias Deepak Manange Rs 25,000.

Manange, who was elected unopposed as an independent in Manang ‘B,’ claimed that the election expenses set by the commission were insufficient to feed the activists alcohol, and the commission imposed a fine.

He had previously been asked to explain himself.

According to the commission, he was fined 25,000 for failing to provide a satisfactory response to the commission’s clarification request.
