NC forms sub-committees for electoral campaigns



KATHMANDU: Targeting the upcoming election to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly elections slated for November 20, the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has formed a secretariat and different sub-committees under the party’s Central Election Mobilization Committee.

The NC said the Committee held intensive talks for massive mobilization of party’s all mechanisms to make the candidates of NC and ruling alliance’s candidates in the federal and province assembly elections victorious.

The meeting has formed sister wings and well-wishers organization coordination and mobilization sub-committee; monitoring, evaluation and supervision sub-committee; election security bodies coordination sub-committee; foreign country-based Nepali Public Relations Committee coordination and mobilization sub-committee; election monitoring and discipline sub-committee; election commission coordination sub-committee; district-Kathmandu liaison committees coordination sub-committee and province mobilization coordination sub-committee.

The meeting was presided over by NC Central Election Mobilization Committee Coordinator Gopalman Shrestha.

NC Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, leaders Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Chandra Bahadur KC, Umesh Jung Rayamajhi, Abdul Sattar, Nain Singh Mahar, Rajeev Dhungana and other leaders also put forth their views in today’s meeting.

Meanwhile, the NC is preparing to establish the media centre to effectively publicize the party’s electoral campaigns.

A meeting of the NC’s central publicity committee convened on Tuesday took a decision to establish the media centre at the party central office as well as in the provinces, districts and constituencies of the HoR and province assembly. Party’s media mechanism will also be set up at the local level too.

The media centre and the mechanisms from top to bottom would facilitate the effective dissemination of news on election campaigns.

The meeting presided over by NC Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat decided to develop media contents for the party’s publicity and disseminate those contents from different media outlets including the new media and social networking sites.

For this to launch effectively, party’s well-wishers’ and sister organizations, intellectuals, media persons and professionals would be included for publicity-related content development.
