NEPSE gains 27.56 points on Thursday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 27.56 points to close at 2068.26 points on Thursday.

The sensitive index also rose by 5.41 points to close at 400.8 points.

The index that opened at an intraday low of 2,041.71 points made an intraday high of 2,072.37 and finally closed at 2,068.42 points.

A total of 5,101,290 units of the shares of 220 companies were traded  through 41,571 transactions, resulting in the daily turnover of Rs 2.05 billion. Wednesday’s turnover was of only Rs 1.40 billion.

Likewise, all the sub-indices went green in today’s market. “Development Bank” gained the highest 3.17 percent while “Hotels And Tourism” gained the least 0.28 percent.

Meanwhile, Mandakini Hydro Power Limited and Upper Solu Hydro Electric Company Limited were the top gainers today with their prices surging by 10 percent.

The shares of Ridi Power Company Limited had the highest turnover today and Api Power Company Ltd. (API) traded the most.
