Nepal sees 457 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Witnessing an uptick in COVID-19 cases in the past few days, Nepal recorded a total of 457 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Monday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 386 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 71 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 4,651 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 2,341 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 2,310 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 1,776 active cases in the country as 48 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

One person died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country remains constant at 11,954 to date.
