Monsoon break likely to end from Tuesday



KATHMANDU: There is partly to generally cloudy throughout the country.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to take place at some places of hilly region of the country and at one or two places of rest of the country, Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

According to the Division’s analysis, presently axis of monsoon trough is located at south from the normal position. The country is witnessing a rise in temperature for the past few days.

It said the shifting of monsoon trough towards the south from the normal position caused a monsoon break, leading the temperature rise. Meteorologist Hira Bhatarai said this year more heat is felt in hilly regions including in the Kathmandu Valley than in previous years.

As Bhattarai said, monsoon trough is likely to move back towards Nepal from Tuesday with the possibility of rainfall, giving some respite from the heat.
