Api Power and GreenZo Energy sign MoU to invest Rs 10 billion for green hydrogen energy



KATHMANDU: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Api Power and India’s GreenZo Energy Company to set up various green hydrogen plants with a total consumption capacity of 50 MW by 2025 in Nepal.

The MoU was signed by Satish Neupane, Chairman of Api Power Company, Nepal and Shreya Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GreenZo Energy Company, India.

The hydrogen plants to be established within 3 years will cost a total of Rs 10 billion. Once in operation, they will generate 4000 tons of green hydrogen annually.

To implement the MoU, the company will establish a green hydrogen plant with a capacity of one megawatt using the water discharge from the 8.5 Mw Naugarh hydroelectric plant located in Darchula. It is going to be established as a model green hydrogen plant in the country.
