Landslide obstructs Dumre-Besisahar road



KASKI: The Dumre-Besisahar road section has been obstructed since last night due to incessant rain-triggered floods and landslides.

Police Inspector at the District Police Office Jagadish Regmi informed the landslide occurred at Deuralidanda in Besisahar municipality-1, Udipur along the road section has disrupted traffic.

He shared mud-sliding from above the road that links Udipur Bazaar through Shree Jung Battalion Nepal Army, Ritthebagar has halted road traffic.

According to security sources, the Marsyangdi River has eroded land from below and a mudslide above has collapsed a three-meter section of the road.

No vehicular movement took place since early this morning due to road obstruction.

Vehicles bound to Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Gorkha and Tanahun from Besisahar are not being operated due to road obstruction.

With frequent disruption of the 42-km road section due to flood and landslide, the passengers are facing increasing troubles in their travel along the road.
