BANKE: The number of visitors has been increasing at the Bardiya National Park (BNP) in Banke as this is the time when tigers can be seen. The chances of spotting the wild cat are high during jungle safari at this time.

A group of German and Israeli tourists who had enjoyed a jungle safari was found very excited at the park gate.

Anuram Chaudhary, a nature guide at the Park, said the visitors were very happy and thrilled to see tiger in course of the safari. “This is the time when the tourists’ wishes of observing tigers are mostly fulfilled. The main objective of the tourists choosing a safari is to see the tiger and this wish is mostly fulfilled,” Chaudhary said.

The BNP has become the choice of both domestic and foreign tourists in recent days because of the high prospects of observing the tiger.

BNP Chief Conservation Officer Bishnu Prasad Shrestha informed that the number of visitors taking safari and jungle walk in the core area of the park has multiplied. He said that more than 10,000 tourists have visited BNP till the date of the current fiscal year. The number of domestic visitors has also been going up.

“More than 10 thousand visitors have toured around BNP as of mid-April of the current fiscal year 2021/22. This number of visitors is encouraging for us and we expect the number of visitors to increase further as this is the time when tigers can be seen,” Shrestha added.

According to him, a majority of the visitors coming to BNP are found giving more priority to observing the tiger in the wild.
