Elderly dies in fire in Gorkha



GORKHA: A senior citizen has died in a fire occurred at Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-7 in Gorkha.

Keshari Maya Wasti, 69, from Jamune locality died in the fire occurred last night, according to ward Chair Sharan Shrestha.

Shrestha further informed that the fire was caused by the explosion of a cooking gas cylinder.

The locals had, however, learnt about the incident only on Saturday morning.

The locals said Wasti was staying alone in a home in isolation. All property in her home turned into ashes.

Superintendent of Police in the District Police Office, Kedar Khanal, said the nature of accident seems it occurred last night. However, the locals were informed about it only on Sunday morning.
