Balen maintains lead in Kathmandu Metropolis

Independent candidate Balen Shah has continued to lead in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

So far, Balen has received 18,795 votes in Kathmandu.

Balen’s rival CPN-UML’s Keshav Sthapit has got 9,596 votes.

Maoist Center’s Renu widens lead in Bharatpur Metropolis

CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Renu Dahal has widened her lead with a margin of 2,198 votes in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

She got 11,716 votes while closest contender UML candidate Bijaya Subedi got 9,518 votes. Similarly, independent candidate Jagannath Poudel received 5,000 votes.

Maoist Centre wins in 7 local levels, NC in 2, UML 1 in Rolpa

The vote counting is over in all 10 local levels of Rolpa district. As per the count, CPN (Maoist Centre) secured victory in seven local levels while NC in two and CPN UML in one.

Surendra Thapa of the Maoist Centre became Mayor of Rolpa Municipality, collecting 7,630 votes while his nearest rival from NC Sher Bahadur Thapa collected 3,658 votes.

NEPSE shows positive sign Wednesday, increases by 8.9 points

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a slight improvement on Wednesday.

The stock market, which had a high decline of 3.61 percent yesterday, closed with a modest increase of 0.39 percent today. On Wednesday, the market index NEPSE increased by 8.90 points and closed at 2274.42 points.

EC directs to conclude counting within five days of commencement

The Election Commission (EC) has directed the bodies concerned to carry out the vote counting task within a maximum of five days of its commencement.

Issuing a press release on Wednesday,  EC spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel has also urged the stakeholders concerned to refrain from aggravating the dispute by turning minor issues in the vote counting a major issue.
