UML demands to stop vote-counting in Pokhara

POKHARA: CPN-UML has demanded to stop the counting of votes in Pokhara Metropolitan City.

On Wednesday afternoon, the UML representative had demanded that a ballot paper of Ward No. 7 be re-tallied to examine whether its valid or not. After the Election Commission failed to meet the demand, they chanted slogans inside the polling station.

After that, the commission allowed only two UML representatives to sit at the polling station and expelled other party cadres. UML cadres chanted slogans outside.

However, the commission continued the count. Now the UML’s sloganeering has calmed down.

CPN-Unified Socialist leader Dhanaraj Acharya has been contesting as coalition candidate in Pokhara Metropolitan City.  He has got 16,419 votes to against UML candidate. UML candidate has got 14,384 votes.
