Maoist Center wins chair in Dudhauli municipality



KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center)’s Dinesh Adhikari won the election with a wide margin in Dudhauli municipality of Sindhuli.

Adhikari defeated his nearest rival CPN-UML’s Laxman Karki by 5,186 votes.

According to the Office of the Returning Officer, Adhikari received 15,838 votes while Karki secured 10,652 votes.

In Dudhauli, there was an electoral alliance between the ruling parties.

Adhikari had been defeated by UML candidate Ghanshyam Raut by 375 votes in the local level election held in 2074 BS.

Similarly, NC’s Kishor Tharu has been elected as the deputy mayor of Dudhauli municipality.

He received 14,213 votes. His rival Bal Kumari Adhikari of the UML got 10,611 votes. Bal Kumari was elected as the deputy mayor of Dudhauli municipality in the local level election held in 2074 BS.
