NC leader Tamang elected Melamchi mayor

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Aitman Tamang has been elected as the mayor of Melamchi municipality of Sindhupalchowk by defeating CPN-UML’s Bal Krishna Deuja.

Tamang got 11,258 votes while closest rival Deuja obtained 11,165 votes.

Similarly, Uma Pradhan of UML won the post of deputy chief with 10,164 votes while Kumari Tamang of RPP lost the election to the post with 8,356 votes.
