KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Whip Pushpa Bhusal has said that the alliance between the ruling parties will continue until the provincial and federal elections are over.

Talking to media persons on the Federal Parliament Building premises in New Baneshwor on Wednesday, Bhusal said that the NC was in favor of continuing the alliance at the local level till the federal and provincial elections.

She said that the people’s faith and trust in the NC has increased due to the party’s lead in the local elections. She said that the election result has added responsibility to the shoulders of the NC.

“We have noticed that the confidence and trust of the general public towards the NC has increased due to the initiative taken by the party. The responsibility has been added to the shoulders of the NC.

Whip Bhusal further said that the youths got to vote for the independent candidate due to the addition of young voters in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

She said that internal dissatisfaction within the party was also reflected in the election results. She said that the preliminary results of the metropolis indicated that the party should go to the polls in the coming days only by managing the internal organization of the party.

“More than 3.5 million young people have now been added as new voters. Secondly, the issues of internal dissatisfaction within the party are other factors  behind the result. However, the kind of result that is coming to Kathmandu metropolis now is the initial one. The number of people going to the polls has risen sharply.”
