RPP wins chair and deputy-chair in Jhapa’s Haldibari



JHAPA: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has won the posts of chairperson and vice-chairperson of Haldibari rural municipality of Jhapa.

Rabindra Lingden has been elected as the chairperson and Laxmi Mainali as the vice-chairperson. Linden received 6,856 votes.

His closest rival, Dambar Giri of the CPN-UML, polled 4,666 votes. RPP candidate Mainali got 5,078 votes while her nearest rival Shantadevi Gautam of CPN-UML got 4,106 votes.

Haldibari is also the hometown of RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden. At the same time, RPP has won two seats. RPP candidate Ramesh Napit has been elected as the mayor of Shankharapur municipality of Kathmandu.
