One arrested from TIA with 40 grams of gold and other electronic items



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man with with 40 grams of gold, a mobile phone and a laptop from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday.

The arrested has been identified as Bhagdev Kathariya Tharu of Kailari Rural Municipality-8, Kailali.

The TIA Security Office arrested him from the arrival tunnel gate of TIA. He arrived in Kathmandu from Dubai on a Jazeera Airways flight.

Police have seized 40 grams of gold locket, Apple’s MacBook Pro, MI14 and iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro Max phones from him. The total worth of all the items seized is around Rs 1,004,800.

TIA Security Office has handed him over to the TIA Customs Office for further investigation.
