NC cadres against electoral alliance in local election: Leader Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said that NC cadres are not in favor of electoral coordination in the local level elections.

Speaking at a training program organized by NC Constituency No. 4 ‘A’ Regional Working Committee in Kathmandu on Monday, Thapa said that he raised his voice on the issue from the beginning and that party cadres were also not in favor of forging alliance in local level election.

He said that NC leaders and cadres of more than 50 districts told him that it would not be appropriate to  join hands with other parties in the local level election as he collected their suggestions. Thapa opined that it was wrong to forge alliances only to secure win.

He warned that the results of the election could be different if the leadership acts against voters’ and cadres’ will.

Similarly, Thapa stressed the party leadership ought to take necessary decisions as per the wishes of all leaders, cadres and voters.
