Fire guts property worth Rs 6 million



CHITWAN: Property worth six million rupees was gutted in the fire at Khairahani of Madi municipality-4 this morning.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, such amount of property was gutted when a godown of a local Madhav Lamicchane caught fire all of sudden.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Narhari Adhikari, said that fire destroyed 70 quintals of paddy, five quintals of mustard, two quintals of wheat, 35 quintals of poultry feed, one refrigerator, one television set, three solar panels and one inverter and utensils.

Similarly, 1,200 chicken and 1,000 chicks were burnt to death in the incident, he shared.

Locals, police personnel and fire engine doused the fire, started from 4:30 am. Reason behind the fire has not been ascertained.
