SC hearing writ petition against appointments made during Oli’s tenure

KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court (SC) is hearing writ petitions seeking revocation of the appointments of 52 office bearers made by the then Prime Minister KP Oli on the recommendation of the Constitutional Council.

Earlier in the day, a single bench of Justice Hari Phuyal had ordered a joint bench to hear the case.

The Supreme Court had written a letter to the Nepal Bar and the Supreme Court Bar Association requesting them to send amicus curiae.

The Constitutional Bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Karki will also debate on whether the order of the previous single bench of Justices Meera Khadka, Harikrishna Karki, Bishwambhar Shrestha, and Ishwor Khatiwada will be continued.
