“It is inappropriate of me to have different position than govt’s on MCC: Minister Jhankri

KATHMANDU: Minister of Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhankri has said she shares the stance of the Prime Minister on the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Talking to reporters after the parliament meeting Friday, Minister Jhankri said that it would not be appropriate for her to have an opinion different from the Prime Minister’s on MCC as long as she is a member of the Council of Ministers. “It would not be appropriate for me to have a different view on MCC than the one held by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba as long as I am in his cabinet.”

Jhakri, who became minister from the CPN-Unified Socialist, said her party’s official position would release after party meeting on Saturday.

Stating that some issues were introduced to affect Nepal’s internal politics, she advised of being aware of such issues by keeping in mind the benefit of the nation and the credibility of the government.
