Maoist Center postpones CC meeting scheduled for Feb 20-21

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-Maoist Center convened on February 20 and 21 has been postponed.

According to the central office chief secretary of Maoist Center Shree Ram Dhakal, the Central Committee meeting has been postponed due to special political reasons.

The meeting has been rescheduled for March 4.

The Maoist center had called a two-day meeting in Kathmandu saying that it would select the office bearers.

Although the party’s national general convention chose the party chairman and central committee members, it failed to finalize the name of office bearers and assigned the task of choosing office bearers to central committee.

According to a central member , the CC meeting is not likely to take place until a concrete agreement is reached in the coalition on the US grant project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
