NOC not to adjust petrol price, gets profit of Rs14.56 per liter on petrol



KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation has again deferred adjusting the price of petroleum products.

Even though the new prices are coming from India regularly, the corporation has not adjusted the prices by showing the old losses.

As a result, the consumer has been hit by high prices. Despite the increase in the price of some fuel from India on Sunday, the corporation still has a profit of Rs 390 million in 15 days.

However, the corporation has clarified that due to accumulated losses; there will be no immediate price adjustment.

According to the new price list sent by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), petrol per liter has increased by Rs 1.74, diesel by Rs. 15.60 and aviation fuel by Rs. 10.25 paise.

According to which NOC has a loss of Rs 6.34 paisa per liter on diesel and Rs 325 per cylinder on gas. However, the corporation has a profit of Rs 14.56 on petrol, Rs 38.58 on kerosene and Rs 40.78 on aviation fuel (domestic) and Rs 90.98 per liter (international).
